Maddie's Full Of Poop...

Please forgive my lack of tack in choosing a title, but I just had to do it!  There is just no better way to say it.  It's what my daughter said to me when she called me with the results of Madison's doctor's visit...and I laughed!

Madison went to the urologist this week for a consultation concerning the problems she's been having.  After checking her out and doing some tests, it's the doctor's opinion that Maddie is "full of poop"!  The doctor showed her parents the x-rays to prove it!

The doctor went on to say that constipation is prevalent in little girls, and he sees many new patients each week experiencing the same problem (urine leakage) as Madison.  Although Madison poops regularly, apparently she needs to poop a lot more...  The key is to get Madison totally "cleaned out" and keep her that way.  Not an easy task!

Yesterday, Brandy did both of the doctor's recommended procedures--with no results!  This child must be backed up and plugged with a cork!  We'll just have to wait and see what today brings...if anything!

I'm relieved to know that Maddie's problem isn't more serious.  I just hope she gets "things moving" soon--and that her problems will be be resolved as a result!

Castor oil, anyone?  Maybe our parents knew something that we don't...

A Bit of This and That...

Waiting for some Thanksgiving turkey...

I've gotten so slack about posting over here that I am totally ashamed of myself.  The truth is, two blogs have just gotten to a bit more than I can deal with most days.

It's been a difficult year for me, health wise.  I haven't felt like writing or spending the time with the grandchildren that I normally do.  Life has somewhat passed me by a great deal of the time, and I feel sad about that.  Precious time is gone that can't be replaced.

With the exception of Madison's pending urinary problem, both children have been doing well, and are growing up so quickly.  Sometimes I look at old photos and can hardly believe it's the same children.  Both grandchildren are blessed with good sets of parents, who take care of all of their needs. Praise the Lord for that!

Madison is attending "Busy Beavers" preschool, while Caden and his parents are getting ready at their house for the arrival of a new baby later this month.  Only 26 days to go after today!  I haven't been to see all the changes they've made at their house yet, but I plan to visit soon.  I wanted to give Christina time to get everything in order.  If she's not ready by now, she should be!

Madison's house is all decorated for Christmas--with a grand total six trees!  I guess you could say my daughter loves Christmas as much as I do!  She has a living room full of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Tigger, and Pooh--among other things!  It looks like a child's Christmas paradise.

Caden's mom usually goes all out decorating, too, but said she was scaling back this year because of the baby's birth at Christmas time.  She knew she wouldn't feel like taking everything down afterward.

This time of the year gets a little "tricky" with the grandchildren.  While Madison's parents celebrate Christmas the traditional way, complete with a visit from "Santa"on Christmas eve, Caden's parents have chosen not to go the "Santa" route.  Caden receives Christmas gifts, but no visit from "Santa".  I respect that decision, but can't help but feel a bit sad for Caden.  Visits from "Santa" are among our family's favorite childhood memories, and Caden will never know that magic.  No letters to Santa, no milk and cookies left out, and no listening for the tapping of reindeer hoofs on the roof top...Oh to be a child again!

When asked what he wanted for Christmas the other day, Caden simply said, "A back hoe."  I laughed, and told him that we could use a good back hoe around here!  I don't know if he's getting a back hoe, but I do know he's getting a big green tractor--and I know he'll love that--no matter who gives it to him!

Update...

Madison has a appointment to see a urologist next week.  I always love how it seems to take forever to get in to see a "specialist".  In the meantime, she is feeling better.  Prayer is a wonderful thing.

I will be back before long to update what is going on with everyone.  At the moment I'm decorating for Christmas.  Please visit again soon...

Requesting Some Prayers For Maddie...

I haven't mentioned it before, but granddaughter, Madison, has been suffering with some urinary issues for a while now--including most of the month of November.  She's been to the pediatrician twice this month, and her problems still aren't resolved.

Those of you who have ever had  urinary tract infection symptoms can probably relate to how Madison's been feeling.  She's been having a lot of urinary pain and discomfort off and on, and some leakage problems.  Nothing the pediatrician recommended has really helped, so he is referring Madison to a urologist.

In the meantime, could you please send up some prayers on Maddie's behalf--and for her parents, too?   You know it's equally tough on the parents when their child is having difficulties.  I hope and pray that all will find some answers and some relief soon!

Mama's Little Helpers...

Isn't this just like a couple of "helpful" little boys?  Caden and his friend, Jayden, are taking time to work on mama's vacuum cleaner!

I actually went over to daughter-in-law, Christina's, Facebook page to borrow a different photograph, but when I saw this one, I just had to share it.  Christina managed to capture a "kodak moment", don't you think?

Hopefully, I'll be back soon to get caught up over here.. A lot has been going on with the little ones!

We Have A Date...

We have a tentative birth date for "baby Chase"!  If all goes well, he will make his arrival on December 27, 2011!  That's only six weeks away!

Daughter-in-law, Christina, appears to handle pregnancy with ease.  She's currently in the middle of re-decorating two bedrooms in their home, as well as keeping up with two little boys under the age of 3, since she's currently babysitting, too!  Whew, it makes me tired just thinking about it!

With the busy holidays just around the corner, I'm sure time will pass quickly.  Before we know it, we'll have another new member of the family.  I can hardly wait to brush the cobwebbs off of my rocking chair!

Trick-Or-Treat Night...

As we all know, last Monday was Halloween.  Let's just say, I'm running a bit behind in posting over here!  That's beside the point, so let's get on with the story...

I live out in the country, so I don't get many "trick-or-treaters".  However, I know that I can always count on having at least two of them!  This year was no exception...

Our first guest of the evening was granddaughter, Madison, who came dressed as "Dorothy" of The Wizard of Oz.  Madison made a perfect "Dorothy" with her dark pigtails!  I loved her ruby red slippers, too.  Little dog, "Toto", and his basket were just too cute, and really completed her ensemble.

Our second visitor of the evening was grandson, Cade, who came dressed as a "handyman".  Cade looked ready to fix anything with his box of tools at his side!  He was so cute in his work boots and  handyman outfit!  Unfortunately, Cade wasn't in the mood to pose for pictures when he stopped by!  He had a cute yellow hard   hat, too, but no way could we get him to wear it for a photograph!  Sometimes he reminds me so much of his daddy...but that's a story for another time!

I'm told that both children had a great time trick-or-treating. I"m sure both got plenty of "treats", too.  In fact, they almost had a bag full when they left my house--from me!
