Easter Memories...In Photographs

Madison's first Easter--2007

Caden's first Easter--2009

Madison's second Easter, wearing the outfit that I bought her for Easter

Caden, posing for MiMi's camera

Little Miss Madison, looking like a precious little lady, on her third Easter in 2009.

Meanwhile Caden seems to be getting the hang of hunting eggs in 2010!

Madison poses with her basket full of eggs at the 2010 church egg hunt!

Doesn't this young man look positively dashing in his vest and cap???

But Little Miss Madison doesn't look very happy about being dressed up, and having her picture taken...

I can hardly wait to see what memories this Easter will bring...

An Empty Box...

What is it about an empty cardboard box that captivates children? In all of my years on this old earth, it's always been my experience that all children love to play in boxes! Sometimes our own children played with the empty box longer than they played with the toy that came inside of the box!

My daughter needed a few empty boxes, so a couple of weeks ago, my husband came home from work bringing an empty cardboard box. On that particular day both of the grandchildren were visiting. Can you guess what happened next??!

It wasn't long before one grandchild, whose name happens to be Madison, gravitated toward the empty box, and soon began having some fun! It wasn't long before...

a second grandchild, whose name is Caden, gravitated toward the box and the child, who was now happily playing inside of the box!

Before long, both grandkids were taking turns playing "Peek-a-Boo" from inside of the box...They also sat inside of it pretending that it was a car...and then they turned the box over and fell out of it laughing!

Proving my theory, once again, "the more some things change, the more others stay the same"...ONE EMPTY BOX plus A CHILD, OR TWO, equals FUN!

The Shootin' Car...

The other day Madison, her mother, and I decided to go to McDonald's for lunch.

As we were preparing to exit the car, Madison began saying that she saw a "shootin' car".

She said the "shootin' car" looked like her gun.

When we all finally got out of the car, my daughter and I looked toward the drive-thru, and saw what Madison was referring to...It was a camouflaged pickup truck, a.k.a. "a shootin' car"! Who would've guessed???

The Sound Of Laughter...

Nothing in the world makes me happier than hearing the giggles of Madison and Caden!

The two of them just love to get together to play, and yes, at times even argue a bit!

On the day I snapped the above photo, the two of them were playing with "E-pa" and the pretend food.

"E-pa" was pretending to eat any and everything that was offered to him out of the pretend food stash.

The giggles really began to flow when "E-pa" got the pretend toaster, and kept making the toast pop up in the air!

Now I wish I had taken some video instead of a photograph.

It's just not the same without the giggles...

I think I know why they say "Laughter is the best medicine".

Too bad we can't bottle it and sell it at the neighborhood pharmacy :)
