Hooray! It's Fun Friday and Madison's Birthday

Madison is excited! She turns 3 years old today! She was supposed to arrive via a scheduled c-section on Halloween, but the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck, causing her heart rate to fall, so she was delivered a little early--all 7 pounds of her.

Madison is having a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party on Saturday. That is what kind of party that she asked for. Her second request was that we have Mickey Mouse ears for the party hats, which her mama bought!

Her third request was that she wanted Minnie and Mickey mouse characters in the decorations. Her mama was going to use just Minnie Mouse since Madison is a girl, but no--Madison had to have some Mickey in there, too--and Donald, Goofy, and the whole gang.

Madison, her mama, and I went to Party City today. That place is huge! They had any kind of party decorations that you can imagine. There were aisles and aisles of prizes, balloons, games, decorations. We stayed in there for a long time. One aisle and the whole back part of the store was even devoted to Halloween. I've never seen so many costumes and such ugly monsters.

All party items have been purchased. The only thing left to do is bake some cupcakes, decorate the annex (we chose to use our church annex due to a 50% chance of rain), get some party games planned, and pick up the cakes--yes, there are two of them, a Minnie and a Mickey. One cake wasn't enough to feed everyone--and we couldn't have Minni without Mickey anyway!

One last thing, we even managed to find a little outfit for Madison to wear that had Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck on it. She had her choice of magenta or purple, and she chose purple. How often do you coordinate with your party decorations???

Now for the part that is fun! It's time for the Friday Giveaway. Today's giveaway is for a lucky little girl.
The prize is a velvet art picture of a mermaid and two packs of Disney Princess playing cards--Old Maid and Crazy Eights.

All that you have to do to have a chance to win this prize is tell me one fact from the above post. Example: There is a 50% chance of rain on the day of the party.

You cannot use the same fact more than one time. That means if the person before you used it and you use it, yours won't count. There is a lot of information in this post, so there are a lot of different facts to choose from. I count at least 34.

You can comment up to 3 times for 3 entries, but remember, if a fact is repeated, it won't count as an entry.

The contest will end on Sunday night, October 25, at 12:00 EST. I will draw a winner and announce them on Monday's post. I appreciate everyone who stops by this blog--especially those who are regular visitors. Thanks so much! Good luck everyone, and have a great weekend!

How About These Pumpkins?

These are the pumpkins that Madison and her family painted last week. I thought that they turned out very cute. Madison's daddy is blessed with artistic talent, so he made his pumpkin look like a wrestler. I admire people that can paint and draw. I can barely draw a straight line. If these pumpkins don't put you in a festive mood, I don't know what will...Happy Fall, ya'll!

Just Call Him Cade...The Music Maker

Recently, on one of his visits to MiMi's house, Cade discovered a new toy. It belonged to his daddy and his Uncle Brad when they were little boys. It's a drum full of musical instruments, called the Fisher Price Marching Band.

MiMi showed Cade how to play the cymbals and he really enjoyed banging them together and making "music".
We all noticed an interesting thing...every time that Cade banged those cymbals together, he would blink his eyes! It was amusing to watch! Now whenever Cade comes over for a visit, he loves to make music! There's a drum, the cymbals, maracas, a harmonica, and a tambourine...MiMi is thinking that she should send this toy home with Caden!

Tuesday's Blog Hop--Halloween At Our House... In Pictures

Welcome to the "Bacon Plantation" family cemetary...It is located in our front yard--right outside our front door...this means anyone coming or going has to walk past it....

This odd looking fellow is "Boo Boo" the not-so-friendly clown. He hangs around among the trees of our front yard...

We have friendly twin ghosts--"Casper" and "Jasper" that fly around the front yard all day and night. This one is "Casper", he hangs out with "Boo Boo" the not-so-friendly clown!

This is "Bones", another one of many creatures lurking around our front yard this time of the year...

This is a fall arrangement that I have in our yard. I got that little wheelbarrow planter last year. As you can see...I have a pesky intruder...at least it's a black/white cat and she matches the decor...

Meet "Jack" our giant "blow up" jack-o-lantern. He sits out in the front yard looking over toward Madison's house...

This is the fall arrangement that I made outside. I love the smell of fresh hay, and the way pumpkins and gourds look! I added a few fake rats and some orange lights so it would match the other "spooky" decor. The day after I made this arrangement, rain set in for a whole week. Now the hay is looking moldy, my Indian corn is trying to sprout, and the fruit flies are moving in on my gourds...so much for natural decorations out in the weather..this arrangement is looking "spookier" by the day...Thanks so much for hopping by...

Video of Madison Painting A Pumpkin

I was finally successful at downloading a video to my blog. I wanted you to see Madison in action. Her mama bought three pumpkins for the family to paint. Daddy painted one, mama painted one, and Madison painted one. Brandy was thoughtful enough to video a little bit of Madison while she was painting hers.

I have no idea what song that Madison is humming while she paints, but she's definately concentrating on her work while enjoying herself! This pumpkin is truly Madison's masterpiece. Later, when Brandy wrote" Happy Halloween" on Madison's pumpkin, Madison got very mad with her! I'll download some regular pictures on the next post! Thanks for stopping by...

Not Me Monday!

Before I get started with today's Not Me, Monday post, I would like to announce the winner of Friday's Giveaway. The winning number was...31, so the winner is...Amanda, with the guess of 28! She wins two cute puzzles and a coloring/activity book with crayons. Your prize will be in the mail soon! Thanks so much to everyone who participated! If you participated, and didn't win, there will be a new giveaway this Friday...same game!

Now for today's post...Since my week was relatively boring compared to my daughter's, I will write about her week instead. My daughter is Maddie's mama. Madison/Maddie is one of the two delightful grandchildren that I write about on this blog each day!

Maddie's mama and I did not go shopping last Monday and see a sign beside some pumpkins that said 78 cents. We did not think that the pumpkins cost 78 cents a piece, only to find out that it meant 78 cents per pound! We bought the pumpkins anyway, even though that sign was misleading...

Madison's mama did not start out her week by planning for her family to paint those three pumpkins...she did not end up going to the Ladies Circle Meeting at church instead!

On Tuesday, Madison's mama did not decide to try the pumpkin painting activity again...only to receive a phone call reminding her of a church nominating committee meeting that she had forgotten about! No pumpkin painting that evening...

Wednesday Maddie's mama did not have to take their mini van to the shop for some (more) repairs. She did not find out that those repairs would cost $700.00! Maddie's mama is not slowly purchasing a new mini van--one piece at a time!

When Maddie's mama brought out those pumpkins and began the painting activity again, she did not have company show up unexpectedly! Finally the pumpkins got painted--eventually! Maddie's daddy did not paint a "wrestler" pumpkin! I will post pics soon!

Maddie's mama did not come over to get me on Thursday to take her to town to pick up her mini van from the repair shop. I had not just had my eyes dilated and was not practically blind! Maddie's mama did not end up driving me to town instead! I did not cautiously drive myself back home, but refuse to let Maddie ride with me!

That's about it for this version of Not Me, Monday. Now hop on over to Mckmama's, the creator of Not Me Monday, at http://www.mycharmingkids/ and check out her blog carnival of Not Me Monday posts. Thanks for stopping by...
