Six Word Saturday...September 25

I'm playing SWS over on this blog today. I feel as if I've been neglecting it lately :( It's hard
to keep up with two blogs-- and with the grandchildren "doing their own things" these days,
it's hard to always have material to blog about. The times they are changin'--just like the
leaves on the trees...

My six words for today are:

The best things in life--priceless !
How can you put a price on a pony ride given by your grandpa? You can't. How can you put
a price on fun time spent with your little granddaughter? You can't. I rest my case!

Check Out Maddie's Friend...

Madison's mama decided to drag out her Halloween decorations this afternoon. She wanted to take inventory of the decorations that she has. Let me tell you, Madison was absolutely thrilled when she saw those decorations!
After a while, we got a phone call from Madison's mama. She said "look outside the window and see what Maddie is playing with."
When we looked outside, we saw Maddie outside carrying around this large white plastic ghost. She was treating that thing like it was her "best friend". She placed the ghost in the swing, she made it slide down the slide, and she even put it on top of the sand box! We watched as she carried her "friend" all around the yard...
You know, I always thought that Madison might need a playmate, now I'm sure of it!

Red Light, Green Light...

I really wish I had a photograph to go along with this post, but I can't always have my camera handy!

I looked outside of my window the other day, and I saw my granddaughter, Madison, running around and around a pecan tree in her yard.

Her mother was sitting in a chair in the yard, holding up colored paper plates that were glued to large tongue depressors.

I quickly walked outside to see what was going on.

I discovered that Madison and her mom were playing "Red Light, Green Light".

I watched in amazement as Brandy held up a colored plate, and Madison either stopped, slowed down, or took off at full speed.

What a fun old game!

What a wonderful way to help your child get some excercise while you sit in a chair!

Brandy, you are a genius!

Grandparents Day 2010...

This is a post I've been meaning to write for a week now...but I must be getting old, 'cause here lately, I seem to always be running behind!

Last Sunday was "Grandparents Day". My husband and I were gone to the beach for a weekend getaway, but when we returned, our grandchildren had the sweetest gift waiting for us. It was a beautiful photo collage of them playing at our little downtown park.

I know how "active" these two little ones are, and I know all-too-well how diffcult it is to catch them in a photograph together. I really appreciate the effort that it took to make this gift for Ed and me.

Thanks, everyone, it was the perfect gift! It only took me a week to get "E-pa" to hang it :)
