House Clothes...

My daughter came over yesterday and told me that she had a story for this blog. It seems that Maddie has been "at it" again.

Yesterday morning was a school day for Madison. She only attends "Wee Ones" on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Normally, Brandy takes Madison to school, runs errands in town for three hours, then swings back by to pick her up.

Yesterday Brandy decided to just go back home and do some housework, so she put on a t-shirt and sweatpants, instead of the usual jeans and top. When Madison saw what Brandy had put on, she quickly said "Mama, those clothes aren't appropriate to wear to school!" Those are your "at home" clothes."

How funny that Madison noticed what her mama was wearing! In the past, we've even seen some mothers still wearing their pajamas while they drop off their kids at school! Apparently, their children aren't very observant--or maybe they just aren't as opinionated as Maddie!

Chastised by a 4-year-old...We got a good laugh from that one! By the way...Brandy has a t-shirt that says the same thing as the one at the top of this post!

Back To School...And Other Things

Madison was finally able to go back to school today--after being absent all of last week. She was excited and ready to go. The bad thing was--her mama didn't realize it was "Pooh" day, so Madison didn't get to take one of her "Pooh" toys to share! She has lots of "Pooh" toys, and she was disappointed.

Madison also gets to go back to dance class this afternoon. She gets to take a stuffed toy to dance today, so that made her feel better. She said she was planning to take her mermaid. Hmmm...a dancing mermaid?

Yesterday, Madison came over for a while to watch a movie on Netflix. She thinks watching Netflix is a big deal these days. We watched a Bugs Bunny movie--made up of cartoons that I used to watch with my children when they were small. I still find Bugs Bunny entertaining.

After the movie, Madison asked to see inside my mouth, for some reason. I asked her if she saw all of my fillings. Then I explained to her that I didn't brush my teeth when I was little, and that's why I have these cavities(fillings).

Madison promptly went home and tattled to her mom that "MiMi didn't brush her teeth when she was little--and she has cavities!" Perhaps Madison will remember MiMi's giant fillings next time she's not in the mood to brush!

Payback...

Times are changing...It seems that my two little grandchildren would now rather spend time with each other, than with MiMi! Isn't that the way it usually goes?

I live just across the yard from granddaughter, Madison, so if Cade is here at my house, he can see Madison's house. Usually, one of his first questions is "Where's Maddie?"

Today, when I found out that Cade was over at Madison's house, I walked over to see him for a moment. Well--that little man didn't have time to acknowledge his MiMi--he was too busy playing!

Then I heard a funny thing--something I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more of. When Cade's daddy told him it was time to go home and take a nap, Cade quickly replied, "No, want to stay and play "tent"! (he and Maddie were playing in a little tent) Then Cade quickly followed up with, "I don't want to take nap"! Oh yeah--Cade argued with his dad :) Cade's daddy was a "champion" at arguing with us, while growing up... Let the payback begin...
