Reese Cup Anyone???

Welcome to my little blog, where I write about my two precious grandchildren. I hope you enjoy your visit here. Thanks so much to One2Try, HeartsMakeFamilies, and Midday Escapades for hosting this weekly event... Just look at that face...You would never think that he might get into trouble, would you? Well...
The other night, while his mama was in one room drying her hair, and his daddy was in another room ironing...Cade found himself all alone for a few minutes...
He went over to the loveseat and climbed up on it...then he climbed up onto the kitchen counter-- which is behind the loveseat....and not an easy task to get to...He got the candy jar and helped himself to a reese cup--foil wrap and all!
When his parents found him, he was sitting on top the kitchen counter, with chocolate dribbling all down his face--and a mouthful of chocolate and tin foil...enjoying himself immensely!

Candles and Party Hats...

Last Saturday, May 1, was Madison's paternal grandfather's birthday. She calls him "Papa". She is his only grandchild, and she is very special to "Papa".

When Madison found out that it was "Papa's" birthday, she insisted that he had to have some birthday candles, and some party hats! My daughter, Brandy, humored Madison, and let her go to the store and pick out some candles and hats--along with a couple more items. Madison picked out a party bag, and took her gift to "Papa".

The picture above was taken of Madison helping "Papa" blow out all of those candles that she said he had to have for his cake. Notice that both are wearing those party hats, too. I don't know for sure, but I'll bet those candles and hats were among "Papa's" most treasured gifts...

P.S. If you notice that some of the cake is missing...some cake bandits took some of the cake before the birthday boy could blow out his candles...That cake does look delicious, doesn't it?

Ten Things Tuesday...

I'm hosting my first blog hop over at my sister blog "Reflections...by Kathy". I thought I'd write ten random thoughts about being a grandparent, then link up to the hop to see if it is working. I'm not very "tech savy" so wish me luck..

  1. It's a lot more fun being a grandparent than it was being a parent!

  2. It's a lot harder to "correct" the grandchildren than it was to "correct" my own.

  3. It doesn't matter if the grandchildren have already eaten, when they come to visit, they have to have some of whatever MiMi and E are eating...

  4. EVERYTHING is better at MiMi and E's house...

  5. When a grandchild comes to visit...it is understood... they will poop while they are here...

  6. It is so much fun experiencing things again--through the eyes of the grandchildren.

  7. If Madison is in the room...there will be some kind of noise...

  8. If there are shoes in the room...Cade will be trying to wear them...

  9. Nothing in the world compares to holding and rocking a grandchild...especially when they fall asleep.

  10. It's bittersweet watching the grandchildren grow up...time passes way too quickly.

Thanks for hoping by.

Update: At first the link wouldn't work, but now it's working. Make a list of your own ten things, then come on over and link up with me at http://www.edshunnybunny.wordpress.com It's my first attempt at a blog hop.

Boys Will Be...Boys!

I have a little goldfish/koi pond in the yard that my husband gave me for an anniversary present--many years ago. This year we remodeled the pond a little bit, and gave it a new look.

I spent an entire Saturday in March, wading all over that pond cleaning out unwanted rocks that had gotten knocked in over the years...

Cade comes to visit, and guess where his favorite spot in the whole yard is...the fish pond! Guess what Cade wants to do when he gets to the fish pond....

You probably guessed it...throw rocks into the pond! If you look closely you will see the splash that the rock made as it hit the water...Well, boys will be boys...I guess I'll just have to spend another Saturday wading in that nasty pond again---but I'll wait until the water clears, and I can see my feet again!
