The Shirt Says It All...

This could be one of those "a picture is worth a thousand words" posts...just read the shirt! Of course Maddie's mother might "beg to differ" on some days...

This week the weather has been very spring-like. We've been spending more time outside. On one particular day, I was picking up pine cones, while Brandy began to rake up old pecans and leaves. Madison has her own little rake, and she was unraking Brandy's pile of leaves...

In a few minutes, Madison said "I just can't like it out here anymore" and headed for her house...when Brandy went to check on Madison, she found her sprawled out on the couch with her doll...Hmmm, I think she's picking up my habits--except I don't share my couch with a doll!

I couldn't let Madison get ahead of me, so I quickly headed over to my own house--and sprawled out on the couch! Ah yes, the couch felt much better than being outside picking up those pine cones! Have a great day...

Busy, busy, boy...

If I had to choose one word to describe Caden besides "cute", I'd have to say "busy"! He's in constant motion all the time. I'm amazed at how much he's learning--and how quickly he's learning it. He's putting puzzles together!

The photograph above was taken on one of Caden's visits to my house, when the weather was nice and we were enjoying some time outside. I didn't even realize anyone had taken this picture of Caden and me!

The weather here has been beautiful for several days, and Caden has been enjoying himself outside. He's been enjoying his swing, and the tricycle stroller that he got for Christmas.

I watched him literally running all over the yard yesterday. That boy can move! I also watched as he climbed up all five of the steps leading to my front porch--on his feet! Amazing! He's not even 15 months old yet.

You gotta' love little boys, and their sense of adventure...unfortunately they don't have a sense of danger to go along with it!

Grown Too Soon...

Lately I've been really looking at my granddaughter, Madison, and noticing how much she's grown. It seems like she's grown three or four inches taller since Christmas--and her intellect has grown as well.

She's at such a fun age now. She's potty trained, and can carry on a conversation with us. She has her own opinions and ideas, and it's interesting to see what is going to come out of her mouth... even though sometimes it's also embarrassing.

Madison is now big enough to walk from her house to ours by herself--while her mother watches from the porch. It just doesn't seem possible that she's grown up enough to do that! She bursts through the door like a ray of sunshine...and then she wants to change the television channel, or color, play ring around the rosies, or play Barbies.

I watch each of Madison's milestones with pride, but also with a little sadness, for I know that time passes too quickly and before I know it, Madison will be grown up. Why can't life have a pause button, so we can enjoy times like these...just a little bit longer?
