This week Madison's mama has been busy as a little bee planning Madison's third birthday party. Madison will turn three on October 23. How can three years have already passed? Didn't we just have a Dora Explorer party last week? No, wait! That was last year.
Year before last, when Madison turned one, her parents rented the Garden Club Center and threw a big party for her. Most of the guests were family, but Clint has a very large family! The decorations were so pretty. Brandy had the entire center decorated for the party. The cake was in the shape of a number 1, and it was so pretty--and delicious!
This year Madison has requested a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. While shopping for party supplies, Madison's mama discovered that there is a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party set for girls and one for boys. The girl decorations are in pink and purple, which have always been Brandy's favorite colors. The boy's sets are in primary colors. Of course, Brandy chose the girl set.
Madison was a bit upset because her plates and napkins didn't have Mickey Mouse on them. They only have Minnie, Daisy, and Pluto. I guess since there are only two girl characters, they put Pluto on with the girls for good measure! Madison wishes it had been Mickey instead! The boys set has Mickey, Donald, and Goofy on it.
Mickey on the napkins or not, I am sure that Madison will love her party. I can't wait to see her tear into her gifts.
Now, for our Fun Friday giveaway! All that you have to do to enter is answer at least one of the questions below. You can answer one question or all five. Each correct answer is worth one entry. Giveaway ends at midnight EST on 10/11/09. The winner will be drawn and announced on Monday 10/12/09. If your name is drawn, you will win the adorable Beanie Baby Bear named "Treator". Good luck to all who play, and thanks so much for stopping by...
Now for the questions:
1. What was the theme of Madison's second birthday party?
2. Where was Madison's first birthday party held?
3. What day is Madison's birthday on?
4. What kind of birthday party will Madison be having this year?
5. What did Madison's first birthday cake look like?
Scroll down past McLinky and leave your answers in the form of a comment. Good luck!

Cade's Family Gets a New Car...
Cade's family has been looking for a new car for a while. His mom's car was "on it's last legs", so to speak. Once Cade's parents decided what kind of car they wanted, the looking began. Unlike the days when Ed and I used to drive all over looking at different car lots, Christina simply went on the internet and searched.
About 3 or 4 weeks ago, Christina found a car that she liked in Jacksonville, Fla. which is about a 2 and 1/2 hour drive from where we live. The following weekend Christina and Brett went to look at the car. It was just what they were looking for, but things didn't work out for them to make the deal that day, so they came home without the car.
The whole following week Brett worked on the financial details, getting the price in the right range and getting financing. Many phone calls were made that week. It was a long, stressful week, but I won't bore you with all of the details. Finally things fell into place and the deal came together. Plans were made to go, sign the papers, leave the old car, and pick up the new car on Sunday afternoon. I was surprised that the car dealership was even open on Sunday, but I guess hard times call for desperate measures.
Christina's old car started "acting up" on Saturday night. They weren't sure what the problem was, but the battery seemed to be going dead. After charging it overnight, the family attended church Sunday morning, then began the journey to Fla.
They made it about an hour and a half into the journey when the car began to go dead again. Luckily, they were near Brunswick, and headed toward an auto parts store. Unfortunately, they had to travel over a high bridge to get to one. The car would only chug along up the bridge at about 10 miles per hour--sort of saying "I think I can, I think I can." However, it coasted down the other side. They finally made it to Wal-mart and had the alternator tested, and bought a new battery. In a while, were back on the road again!
The real trouble began when they got back on the interstate. They were riding down the interstate, with the windows open, and no air conditioning in an effort to save the power in the battery. Suddenly the car just didn't want to go into gear and go. Nothing they tried helped. The top speed they were able to reach was 45 mph...Can you imagine 45 mph, on the interstate, with the windows rolled down, cars and large trucks passing left and right, and an irritable baby in the carseat?
Finally, Cade's parents realized they might not reach the car dealership before it closed. They called the salesman and told him their problems. He agreed to wait at the dealership for them(and later told them he planned to rescue them if the car died in route). After 5 and 1/2 long hours they made it to the dealership--30 minutes after it closed. They sort of coasted in on a wing and a prayer!
The deal was completed, old car left behind, new car gladly picked up! Before leaving, the salesman asked the couple if they were christians, they replied that they are. He related that he could tell, and that he was a former pastor himself. He said that he couldn't help but wonder if they hadn't made the deal on a Sunday, would they have had all of those car problems....Good question, but at least they went to church before they went to make the deal!
I hope my son and daughter-in-law don't mind me sharing this story...it was just too fascinating not to share. Thanks so much for stopping by...

Madison's Visit To Disneylworld
One of the first things that Madison and her family discovered about Disneyworld was that Cinderella's Castle looks smaller in person than it does on television. They also found out that there are a lot of people there, and it is hot! It is a very fast-paced place, but everyone who works there is very nice.
Madison and her family ate breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and friends. Madison did not want any of the live characters to come near her. She screamed when she first saw Winnie the Pooh! Because Madison will soon be celebrating a birthday, Pooh gave her a birthday cupcake, and Mickey Mouse gave her a signed birthday card. Madison enjoyed having a cupcake for breakfast!
Every time a live character would get close to Madison, her face looked like this picture...I think she made this face a lot!
Because Madison refused to let the live characters get near her, she only had her picture made with the character statues. However, Madison's mother had her picture made with many characters!
The Disneyworld Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treat Night was one of the highpoints of Madison's visit to Disneyworld. The park was closed to everyone except those purchasing a ticket for this event. All of the characters were dressed in Halloween costumes and rode floats decorated for Halloween. Adults and children wore Halloween costumes and walked down the streets trick-or-treating for candy. What an experience! Not everyone can say that they went trick-or-treating at Walt Disneyworld! Madison dressed up as Minnie Mouse.
Madison did many other fun things at Disneyworld, including riding Dumbo the Flying Elephant. One of her favorite activities was riding the shuttle bus everyday! She also visited Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, but liked the Magic Kingdom the best of all. She was very tired on the day that they left to come home. What a trip! I think that Madison and her mother are already dreaming of another visit to Mickey's House!

Tuesday's Blog Hop--With A Humorus Twist
The theme of today's blog hop is to fill in and finish the following story. I've had my share of drama this past week, with a health scare of my own(it's ok, I think), plus I seriously and truthfully filled in the blanks on my other blog Reflections...by Kathy. Therefore, I choose to let my sense of humor shine and fill out this story with a humorus twist. None of this story would ever happen the way I wrote it(I hope)...except I might shop at Wal-mart until I dropped! Enjoy....
You just found out you have one week to live. The first person you call is your husband and say "
I'm about to kick the bucket, so your life is about to be a lot less stressful!" Immediately after
hanging up the phone, you leave the doctors office and before heading home you go to Wal-mart
so you can shop until you drop! You gather your family at home that night and say "you'll be rid
of me in a week then all of you together can fuss and argue over who will get what! Have fun!"
You book a three day trip to three different places because you've always wanted to gamble in
Vegas, shop in New York, and surf in California! On the way back from your trip you stop off
at Nashville, Tennessee to meet with Alan Jackson because you've been meaning to for a long
time because you love his music. For two more days you spend your time reading all of the blogs
that you follow, watching all of the tv shows that you've recorded, and eating all of the desserts
that you can get your hands on. You make sure you , wash the car, go to the grocery story and

you should have taken
care of, but have been putting off. The final day is too personal to write about, but you wonder to
yourself: why did I have to get a death notice before I finally did all those things this week? The
reason I'll probably keeping putting off all those things is I am broke, old, and a bit lazy, but I am
happy in spite of all of these things...

Not Me, Monday
Let me begin by announcing the winner of this weekend's giveaway. The winner of the spinning/spraying bathtoy is Tamara B.....Congratulations! Thanks so much to everyone who participated! I will be having another weekend giveaway beginning on Friday.
As I wrote in my first blog http://www.edshunnybunny.wordpress.com/, my crazy week started out with a mammogram, dentist appointment, and my husband negotiating for furniture. The week got crazier by the day...
No, our church was not having a 3 day revival last week! I had not been to church in quite a while, but the Holy Spirit had been dealing with me and I knew that it was time to get back in church. After fighting off a sick headache, I did not get dressed, along with my husband, and go to church. I did not pull out my reading glasses at church to find that the leg had fallen off! I did not spend the entire time at church trying to balance my reading glasses on my nose!
I did not find out that I was having out-of-town company for the weekend. I was also not having old furniture picked up, and new furniture delivered on Saturday, two members of my family baptized on Sunday morning, and an out of town trip to see "PlayHouse Disney Live" on Sunday afternoon!
On Thursday, I did not get a call from the hospital saying that I needed to come back and have more mammogram films done because of a suspicious spot on one of the films! I did not make an appointment for more x-rays on Friday...
I did not return to church on Thursday night, after stopping over to have cake and ice cream with my daughter on her birthday...I did not enjoy the church sermon very much. My daughter did not unexpectedly show up at church, too! No, I did not spend part of Thursday night in the bathroom with an upset stomach--probably due to the news about my mammogram.
I did not start Friday morning in the bathroom, followed by having more x-rays made of my left breast, and being told that I wouldn't know results until the first of the next week... I did not eat lunch with my husband following the x-rays, then drive 15 miles to the grocery store to buy food for my weekend guests and a cookout. I did not come home and crash on my old couch--for one last time. My company did not arrive 3 hours later.
Saturday morning did not start out in the bathroom again and with a double shot of Pepto Bismol! My brother who was one half of my company, did not look at me and ask what happened to my eye! I later looked in the mirror and discovered that I had burst a blood vessel in my eye and looked like I was crying blood! I will not be visiting the eye doctor next week!
My company did not leave immediately after the people who purchased my old furniture picked it up and we were left without a place to sit...it would not be another 2 hours before the new furniture arrived! I did not "crash" on the new furniture soon after it was delivered!
Sunday, I did not go back to church and see two members of my family being baptized--who happen to be Madison's parents. No, it was not a beautiful service!!! Maddie, her parents, my husband and I did not eat a quick lunch, then drive an hour and a half to see "Playhouse DisneyLive". We did not then, eat at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, stop by Wal-mart, then arrive home at 9:30 pm. I am not typing this post at 11:53 pm...
I am not going to wrap this up and go to bed for a very much needed rest. If you still have any energy after reading this post, hop on over to Mckmama's at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ and see what's going on at her blog carnival.
If you need me this week, I'll be waiting for those mammogram results and getting my bloodshot eye checked out! Thanks for stopping by....
