An Empty Box...

What is it about an empty cardboard box that captivates children? In all of my years on this old earth, it's always been my experience that all children love to play in boxes! Sometimes our own children played with the empty box longer than they played with the toy that came inside of the box!

My daughter needed a few empty boxes, so a couple of weeks ago, my husband came home from work bringing an empty cardboard box. On that particular day both of the grandchildren were visiting. Can you guess what happened next??!

It wasn't long before one grandchild, whose name happens to be Madison, gravitated toward the empty box, and soon began having some fun! It wasn't long before...

a second grandchild, whose name is Caden, gravitated toward the box and the child, who was now happily playing inside of the box!

Before long, both grandkids were taking turns playing "Peek-a-Boo" from inside of the box...They also sat inside of it pretending that it was a car...and then they turned the box over and fell out of it laughing!

Proving my theory, once again, "the more some things change, the more others stay the same"...ONE EMPTY BOX plus A CHILD, OR TWO, equals FUN!

How sweet. There's nothing more precious than a child's imagination. :-)

We bought gifts for our kids when they were young and they would play with boxes! I remember those days so now I show up at daughters house with a a box for the grand daughter to play with and color on and she is busy and happy and laughing for hours while her tired mamma can rest for a bit! Love that about little kids.

Yes, that box can be anything they want it to be! Unlimited fun that they make themselves. your fun equation is right on target!
