Future Farm Girl...

Our family recently made the decision to plant a garden.  It's time to get back to basics again, and become more self-reliant--besides, home-grown just tastes better!

We began by planting some new potatoes.  This was granddaughter, Madison's, first gardening experience--and she was all excited about it!

Once the potatoes were cut and dropped, Madison grabbed her little shovel and began to join right in helping to cover them up!  I can only hope she'll be equally as enthusiastic when the potatoes get ready, and it's time to pick them up!

What do you mean when you say you cut the potato? I love to garden but never have planted potatoes. How do you know when to pick them?

The ground is still to frozen up here to think about a garden but I do look at the catalog and dream.....

We're aways from plantin' garden in this frost holler of ours.

Your little Madison is gonna love watchin' those 'taders grow. It's always sooooo hot when they're ready to dig. Hope she's up to the challenge.

She's a sweetheart!

God bless and have a magnificent day sweetie!!! :o)

Wow - look how long her hair has gotten! She is so beautiful. :-)

Good luck with the garden. If you have an over abundance of new potatoes - let me know. I might buy enough from you to try my hand at Potato Soup. :-)
