It's Been A While...

Madison has already been out of school for over a week now! I took some pictures, and some video of the closing program, but I haven't taken time to share. I was so proud of Madison on the evening of the program! She sang, recited three different pledges, and really seemed to enjoy herself. Oh how I'd love to stop time, and make these sweet, innocent days last longer for her!

Until I get the video of the program uploaded, and ready to share, I'll just share the photo above of Madison sitting on stage. Isn't she a cutie?

Little Miss Madison has been enjoying her summer days! In just the past week, she's been to the library, a t-ball game, played at Caden's house, had Caden and some friends over to her house, and swam in her pool twice! You go Madison!

Dancing With The Stars...No, With E-pa!

Granddaughter, Madison, loves to dance! She loves to sing, too, but that's a post for another day!

I'm told that she and her daddy have been known to dance in their living room at night, with dolls lined up on the couch, as their judges. I've never witnessed this, but I'd love to be a fly on the wall some evening when it's taking place!

A few weeks ago, Madison was over at our house visiting one evening. My husband and I were in the middle of watching "Survivor, Redemption Island", but Madison was in a dancing mood.

Madison talked "E-pa" into dancing with her during the commercial breaks! It's one of the things that makes me love my husband so much. He's never too tired, or two busy to say "no".

The two of them whirled and twirled together while the commercials played. Meanwhile, I sat on the couch and took pictures! At the end of the commercial breaks, the two of them sat down and watched "Survivor", while "E" caught his breath! During the next commercial, the two were back up dancing again!

This was one of those sweet, priceless moments, and, fortunately, I was able to capture it in photos. A grandfather sharing a dance--or two--with his granddaughter. I just had to share...

I also think the lovely couple deserves a "10"! What do you think?

The Recital Was A Success...

Madison, (far left) dancing during her first dance recital

Saturday night marked the end of Madison's first year of dance. Her recital was held in our county high school's auditorium, which also happens to be the lunchroom. The seating was awful. We had to sit in those little plastic lunchroom chairs, and we could only see the backs of people's heads who were sitting in front of us. I managed to get an aisle seat, so I could see better than most.

However, the show was very entertaining. There's nothing more delightful to watch than little girls wearing dancing costumes, especially tutus! Of course, I only had eyes for a particular ballerina--and her name is Madison!

Madison did a great job! She didn't have a bit of "stage fright". She knew her dances, and she performed them well. Let me tell you, I was one proud "MiMi" on Saturday night!

Dance is over for this year...and just in time! Madison's dancing shoes are too small. Her feet will barely fit in them anymore.

I'm not sure what next year will bring. I'm secretly hoping that Madison will be able to take dance lessons again next year. I think she was just getting started when the year ended. I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Six Word Saturday...May 7 edition

My six words: This little cutie will dance tonight!

Granddaughter, Madison's, first year of dance will come to an end this evening, when she dances in her dance recital.

Dance has been a lot of fun for Madison. She's learned so much, as well as made many new friends.

A special "thank you" goes out to Madison's Aunt Sarah, for making this dancing opportunity possible, by paying her dance tuition for the entire year.

Good luck, Madison, go out there and just have fun! You'll always be our favorite tiny dancer!

Walking A Mile In Her Shoes...

Grandson, Caden, takes a moment to try out his mom's shoes. He walks quite well in heels!

2011 Easter Happiness...Madison's version

Madison's Easter happiness began with coloring eggs, with her mama, at MiMi's house!

Playing with the dyed Easter eggs was fun, too! Madison liked making the eggs "talk" to each other!

Easter happiness was leaving an empty basket out...and finding out (the next morning) that the Easter Bunny filled it sometime during the night!

Easter happiness was also receiving a gift bucket from cousin, Caden!

Easter happiness was hunting for Easter eggs with E-pa, and finding the camouflaged egg...

but the best kind of Easter happiness came after the egg hunt...opening the eggs and find out what was inside!

2011 Easter Happiness...by Caden

Easter happiness is gathering together with family, to color eggs at MiMi's house--and getting to stand up in the kitchen chair while doing it!

and it's dropping that first boiled egg into a cup of egg dye...ker plunk!

Happiness is also making a little mess with the egg dye...before deciding that I'd really rather go outside to play!

Easter happiness is...eating one of Brandy's Easter cookies with a popscicle stick!

Easter happiness is...emptying the entire bag of goodies, from MiMi and E, to see what all is in there!

and best of all, Easter happiness is finding those hidden Easter eggs...in the strangest places!
