Tuesday's Blog Hop--One of My Forms of Art-- Costumes!

When I first saw the subject for today's hop "ART", I thought, well, that knocks me out of this one...because I can't draw anything! Seriously, I've had first grade students who could draw much better than I can. However, God did give me various other talents/forms of art! Today I've chosen to share some of the costumes that I've made for my children over the years. Forgive the picture quality, these pics are getting old.Caden's daddy, Brett, and Maddie's mama, Brandy. He's a scarecrow and she's a bee. She won the prize at the school costume contest for "most original costume". Picture is from around 1984.

This is Brandy in 1982. The show "Little House on the Prarie" was popular then and I made her a costume so she'd look like "Half Pint". The dress and bonnet were blue with tiny white flowers. She even had a pail!

This was my toughest costume that I ever made, and my husband helped me on it some. Brandy was a candle for the Christmas Parade in 1984. She won second place for "most original costume".

This was Brett dressed as a Christmas present for the Christmas Parade in 1984. I thought he made a cute little gift!

Brett in 1984(I think) wearing a clown costume that I originally made for Brandy in 1979 or 1980. This was the first costume that I ever made.

I've enjoyed sharing these pics with you. Thanks for hopping by, please come again soon. Click on the McLinky below to visit more participants in today's blog hop...

I LOVE the clown costume. Was wanting to dress my little guy as a clown this year, but you can't find a clown costume to save your life anymore....and I can't sew..LOL

Very, very artistic and talented! These are such fun costumes and a lot of work put in them! How great to have the photos of your kids in them.

Both our girls loved Little House on the Prairie... In fact, our oldest (who is in her last year of dental school) happened to be reading... one of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books that she came across! (she wanted to have some "fun" reading last weekend that did NOT involve the intricacies of oral surgery. haha)

...too true!
