Kids Say The Darndest Things...

The photograph above is of my husband's younger brother. He is our granddaughter, Madison's great uncle. I didn't realize it before, but I guess Madison had never seen her great uncle --until yesterday. If she had seen him, she sure didn't remember him.

When Madison and her mama came over to our house yesterday afternoon, my husband, and his brother were sitting on the couch having a serious conversation about their mother. Madison took one look at the two of them, got a strange look on her face then quickly turned to her mama, and quietly asked "Mama, is that Jesus that "E" is talking to?" ("E" is what Madison calls my husband)

Oh my goodness! We didn't see that one coming! My daughter quickly shuffled Madison off to the kitchen, and tried to keep her composure while she explained to Madison "No, that's not Jesus in the living room talking with "E."

I have included a photograph of Madison's great uncle so you can understand why she would ask such question...He does resemble our modern day pictures of Jesus, doesn't he? And Madison has been learning all about Jesus... Once again, "Kids say the darndest things!"

kids are awesome! I'm sure that great uncle was not offended being compared to "Jesus". A kid sure can make a grown up laugh :)

Well, I can't really laugh at her for mistaking him for Jesus. I, myself, thought he was the guy who dresses like Jesus on Easter and walks with the cross. LOL
